About Your Teacher

    My name is Kelsey Bruner and this is my first year teaching. I graduated from Illinois State University in May of 2019 after a nontraditional education experience. I began college as a social work major but after traveling for a year, with the DCP,  I made the decision to leave that field. It took me another year before I changed my major a 2nd time to education. I am so excited to start my teaching journey in 5th grade. 

   Besides teaching 5th graders, I also teach dance. I have taught dance for 9 years but have been dancing for more than 10 years. My other hobbies include reading and spending time with my friends/family. I love coffee (ask your student what my favorite thing is and I'm sure they would say coffee!). They may also say ice cream or popcorn because I typically have one or the other every night!
